Caries Classes

  • Kayaking

In the class, you’ll give some TLC to your most achy joints and muscles, such as hands and wrists, hips, lower back, shoulders, neck. You will learn movement sequences that will also help with balance and edging, for instance by fostering more coordination between your pelvis and head. In each class, you’ll learn a few tricks you can apply on the water. You’ll learn ways to give yourself a second or third wind, to relieve strain and to get more out of your stroke.

  • Easy Sips

In January 2025 I’ll launch a Pilot Study with three short classes per week for people who need or prefer short sessions and/or more flexible scheduling. The pilot study will be free but there are some journaling and survey expectations. This would be good for people with fatigue, chronic pain, those who want to savor the Feldenkrais experience in smaller sips, or those who just need a more flexible schedule. Let Carie know if you would like to be part of the pilot study.

  • Private Zoom Classes

Do you have a particular skill you want to level up to? An ache that you just haven’t yet learned to support out of existence? Do you feel you can’t do such-and-such anymore but you really want to? Private movement zoom classes are FANTASTIC for just that kind of transformation!

  • Hands on Classes

It’s called a ‘hands-on class’ because the time together is about you learning what works more easily, more elegantly, for you. In a sense Carie is your teacher using touch, but really it is more that she’s awakening your own inner teacher—calling to your body wisdom. In this way, the experience is simultaneously gentle and powerful.

  • Workshops and Retreats

Body Wisdom lessons, whether hands-on or in a group class, are a great way to support learning of almost any kind: sports of course, and any kind of learning that requires creativity, body awareness or self-knowing—think Improv, Creative Writing, Communication Skills…. Clowning, Drawing, Writing, Meditation.

  • Seniors

Body Wisdom is a wonderful modality for older people—as Carie has discovered for herself! Gentle but transformative, emphasizing balance and self-confidence, this method fulfills Carie’s wish for herself and for her clients: to feel ageing as an ongoing process of improvement and adaptation rather than as an overall limitation.
